DOGE Does Defense Departments

Now that the USAID (aka CIA slush fund) has been put down, Elon Musk’s Department Of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has the Defense Department in its crosshairs.

Ironically (or NOT) the story line that DOGE is unveiling is like the plot from Debbie Does Dallas porn/comedy movie from the 1970s.

It was about a cheerleader and her friends needing to make money quickly, so they begin selling sexual services.

Cue up:  The US Defense Department ‘Black Hole’ of taxpayer funds.

One would think that the US Treasury Department should be able to provide a clear account of government spending.

Because it is responsible for processing trillions in government payments per year.

But – thanks to DOGE – it has been revealed that the US Treasury has not been doing its part.

No surprise here.

And it’s even less of a surprise that certain politicians are freaking out over USAID being shut down.

Not surprisingly, the top civil servant at the Treasury, David Lebryk, unexpectedly left his office as soon as the DOGE investigation began.

Lebryk forfeited his government pension and career instead of complying.

He has since been replaced by Scott Bessent who has provided DOGE with access to the federal payments system.

Since then, they discovered the Treasury Department has not denied a request for payment in 22 years.

Read that line again.

So, whenever a bureaucrat or government official wanted the Treasury Department to pay for something, the answer was always YES.

As a result, Musk recently accused Treasury officials of:

“breaking the law every hour of every day by approving payments that are fraudulent or do not match the funding laws passed by Congress.”

Debbie Does Dallas ain’t got nothin’ on these professional thieves.

Defense Department Stocks

We’re not saying you should sell your defense stocks (Cough! General Dynamics (GD), Cough! Lockheed Martin (LMT), Cough! L3Harris Technologies (LST) Cough! Cough!) but you might want to consider what could happen to them as DOGE probes their financials for the last decade or two.

Add with the prospect of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine happening, you could see big money running for the exits with their defense holdings.

Learn which stocks may be the most vulnerable in our upcoming February edition of “Simplifying Wall Street…In Plain English” (HERE).

Share this with a friend…especially if they own defense stocks and/or remember what happened in Debbie Does Dallas. They’ll thank YOU later.
