Lung Cancer stats -

The following conversation about Lung Cancer took place between me and my doctor* at a follow-up visit.

(* Note…My doctor is an old-school style physician who hates seeing how big corporations have been destroying the medical profession for decades. He’s also very cool and has been my Doc for over 25 years).

Recently I had a routine follow-up visit to my doctor for an annual physical.

It turned out not to be very routine.

Because when you visit your doctor, you normally don’t expect them to ask you questions like:

(Doc): “Why doesn’t the media point out how the wealthy in this country profit from lung cancer at our expense?”

Wait! What?

(Me, trying to change the subject): “Hey, Doc…how were the results of my blood work?”

(Doc): “Seriously, Mr. Vincent…more cancer patients die from lung cancer than any other cancer. And the number in 2018 was over 735,000…and as of 2022 it was over 2.2 million. Why doesn’t anyone talk about this?”

(Me): Um, it’s probably bec…

(Doc, not hearing me): “I’ll tell you why. The wealthy people and the big pharma companies work together and lie to everyone about cancer treatments because it’s extremely profitable for them.”

(Me): “You make an excellent point, Doc, and…”

(Doc): “And another thing that upsets me is how they never emphasize to the public how changing your diet or lifestyles that may actually improve their health.” Nope, No Sireee. That wouldn’t be profitable for them.”

Instead, they get Jackasses like the Bidens to tell everyone to expect an increase in turbo cancers…compliments of Covid, I would wager.”

Lung Cancer in Perspective…

(Me, trying to lighten the conversation): “So, tell me Doc, how do you really feel about this?”

(Doc, still on a roll…) “Take for example how everyone goes off the rails when a Boeing 737 crashes and 200 people die. Yes, it’s tragic and you feel sorry for their families. But if TEN 737’s crashed every day for one year it still wouldn’t equal the amount of people who die from lung cancer.”

I quickly did the math had to stop and let that statement sink in.
