We don’t’ believe in coincidences. Which is why we wonder how the 250th anniversary of America mysteriously coincides with Iran’s mass funeral events of slain Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Wasn’t he killed in the first strike of Trump’s OperationEpic Fury?
And according to Muslim law he should have been buried within 24 hours after his death.
But now, four months later, Iran’s Supreme Leader will finally be buried on the 4th of July?
In the meantime, Iran’s chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf called for a massive turnout at the late Supreme Leader’s funeral, saying:
“The nation’s call for vengeance must ring in the ears of the whole world.” Iran “is preparing to experience one of the most significant moments in its history.”
“I invite all the Iranian people … to write a glorious page in the history of Islamic Iran through your presence” at the funeral ceremonies starting Saturday, Ghalibaf continued.
The emblem of the funeral, shared by the official planning body, is Mr. Khamenei’s closed fist alongside a slogan: “We must rise.”
CBS has reported they expect the ceremonies to draw between 15 and 20 million mourners, which would put it at the largest state funeral in the Islamic Republic’s history.
And who out there is old enough to remember the burial of Mr. “Death to America,” Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini back in June 1989?
Back then, Tehran reported over 10 million mourners who watched in horror as Khomeini’s body fell out of his flimsy wooden coffin after millions of overwhelming, grief-stricken mourners surged forward to touch his burial shroud.
What a show that was.
250th Anniversary
The chances of millions of Americans watching Iran’s burial of their supreme leader on our 250th anniversary are slim to none (and slim already left town).
And the US will most likely let the Ayatollah rest in peace.
As we should.
But what about any other nation who hates Iran?
15 to 20 million mourners roaming the streets of Tehran could be one of the most tempting targets to launch an attack.
