Happy Thanksgiving
From the entire staff of Financialsmatter.com to you, our loyal readers.
Although it is often overshadowed by Black Friday Sales, we believe Thanksgiving to be the purest of all holidays.
Especially when you compare it to how Christmas, Easter, and Halloween are celebrated:
- Christmas was, somehow hijacked by a fat man in a red suit traveling the world in one night giving out gifts
- Likewise, Easter was hijacked by a rabbit that lays eggs (still trying to make any sense of that)
- And the original “Eve of Saints” (the evening before All Saints Day…Halloween…has morphed into a demonic celebration including an orgy of candy.
And that’s why we like the purity of Thanksgiving.
It started with the Pilgrims who barely survived their first winter in Plymouth, MA. (over ½ of the original Pilgrims died in their first year in America).
And was later declared a national holiday by President Lincoln while America was at its worst period in history.
Ironically (or NOT) Lincoln gave all the Glory to God for the bounty and freedoms we have in America.
And during a bloody Civil War, he called on all Americans to be Thankful.
Read his entire proclamation (HERE).
We wonder if Lincoln’s stance on foreigners would be the same today…
So, despite all the madness/Political Chaos we are seeing in the world today (and especially in America) it is best to remember that you always have something to be thankful for.
And if you take time to do the research, you’ll find out that America is currently in the early stages of a Third Great Awakening which – like the two prior ones – turned the nation from Turbulent Times to that of prosperity and peace.

So, as you celebrate Thanksgiving, share this with a friend. And remind them that there is always something to be thankful for.
They, in turn, will thank YOU later.
And tell them:
