Since June is supposedly referred to as Pride Month, we looked up the dictionary definition for what is pride.
And we found two interesting/different definitions:
Noun:
- a high or inordinate opinion of one’s own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct, etc.
And the other one:
- recognition of LGBTQ identity, affirmation of equal rights, and celebration of visibility, dignity, and diversity in the LGBTQ community (formerly referred to as Gay Pride):
BTW the second definition is from the online Dictionary.com.
And it is obviously slanted towards the LGBTQ community.
But why did they drop the “GAY” from Pride?
Was it to make it sound more “Mainstream and/or acceptable?”
Ironically (or NOT) the original definition of “GAY” WAS:
- Happy, excited; MERRY
- keenly alive and exuberant: having or inducing high spirits
- Bright, Lively:
But somehow the homosexual community managed to hijack the word ‘gay’ to make homosexuality more “acceptable/mainstream.”
And that’s why if you look up the definition of ‘gay’ today you will see…From Merriam-Webster: *
- : of, relating to, or characterized by sexual or romantic attraction to people of one’s same sex… —often used to refer to men only
- : of, relating to, or intended for people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, etc.
(* Note: Daniel Webster is rolling over in his grave)
So, which definition of ‘Pride’ or ‘Gay’ is correct?
Rather than answer that question we decided to share with you several memes…which share the mood from people who are sick of having homosexual values forced upon them in the month of June.
And for the advertisers and retailers who kowtow to the pressure of promoting today’s definition of “Pride” we remind you of a famous scripture:
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
~ Galatians 6:7 ~
Please note:
For those who are offended by today’s rant and/or memes…especially the one with the statistics that came from an LGBTQ website, feel free to fact check them and send your hate mail in the comment section below.
And for those who are not offended please feel free to share this with your friends. They may or may not thank YOU later.
But at least you will know where you stand with them.
And tell them the obvious…
