"It's Not Just About Finance"

Saturday Rant…The Next Pope

Many are speculating that the next Pope will be the last Pope.

And that is based on the prophecy of St. Malachy from somewhere around 1143 A.D.

We are not sure so we asked HolyRollingRob to weigh in with his 25 cents worth (adjusted for inflation) about the next and possible LAST Pope.

It’s all yours HRR……….

Hi James. First, some history about the prophecy of Saint Malachy…who was said to have forecasted that there would be only 112 more popes before the Last Judgment.

Some said Francis was the 112th pope, but there appears to be some question about him being #112.

That is because his predecessor Benedict XVI was the 111th. And numerically Francis would be the 112th.

However, the motto for 112 is Petrus Romanus (Peter the Roman), which makes no sense.

So, does that mean the prophecy considers Francis as the 111th, and the next pope will be the 112th? But that doesn’t fit with the previous count.

It is possible the resignation of Benedict XVI complicates things because popes usually serve until death, but he chose to resign.

So perhaps the numbering skips or something.

And according to the prophecy the last Pope must encompass that “Peter the Roman” moniker.

So, if that is the case, the likeliest candidates for Pope would be Pietro Parilon, Peter Erdo, or Peter Turkson…all being considered at this time.

There’s some crazy stuff surrounding this prophecy that I can’t validate.

However, there is link to all of this to the business cycle and economic shifts over history that have occurred and cannot be disputed.

Henry VIII was broke, and rejected the Catholic Church, declaring the Church of England instead.

This allowed him to confiscate the property of the Catholic Church to fund his reign.

Napoleon confiscated Church assets and even imprisoned the pope.

Constantine faced the Christian army and declared he had seen a vision in the sky to paint a cross on the shields, so the opposing forces did not want to kill fellow Christians.

He declared Christianity the state religion and confiscated all the assets of the Pagan Temples.

Religion has been abused for centuries and has also been driven by economics.

It was King Philip IV of France who seized the Vatican, moved it to France, installed a French pope, and stole its assets.

So, you can see, there are countless examples of upheavals in religion throughout the centuries.

My question about the Next Pope is:  Will this be the ushering in of the Age of the Anti-Christ?

It may be a coincidence (I don’t believe so) but three major religions Christianity, Judaism, and Islam all point to 2032 being the year when all hell breaks loose.

And by the looks of things today they might just be right.

But first let’s see if the next Pope fits the Peter the Roman moniker.
