51 years ago, * Steven Spielberg’s first JAWS movie sent chills down the spine of every beachgoer in America. And after that, not many people thought it was safe to swim in the ocean.
( *Note: Has it really been over ½ century since Jaws was released?)
Even today people are afraid to swim in the ocean fearing a shark is waiting to attack them.
Tell the truth here!
If you saw Jaws, you’ve had that same feeling, haven’t you?
Try to put those feelings aside for a moment and look at some facts:
-
The odds of getting attacked and killed by a shark are 1 in 3,748,067.
-
In your lifetime, you are more likely to die from fireworks (1 in 340,733)
-
Lightning (1 in 79,746)
-
Drowning (1 in 1,134)
-
A car accident (1 in 84)
-
Stroke (1 in 24)
-
Or heart disease (1 in 5)
Although the numbers above put that “Fear of Sharks” thing in perspective, people still cringe at the thought of swimming in the ocean.
This same thought process applies to many people about going back in the stock market.
Especially after the rollercoaster ride we have had in February 2026.
You don’t have to admit it but in the back of your mind are you comfortable with the stock market at this point in time?
No?
Welcome to the majority.
Thought it Was Safe…
