One of the many old Wall Street adages – that traders often revere as the Gospel – is the simple strategy called “Go Away in May.”
Advocates are quick to point out that between the months of May and October you’d be wise to simply get out of the market.
And these same advocates are very quick to bombard you with numbers and statistics that confirm their beliefs.
On the flip side they’ll say – again with statistics, graphs, etc. – how you’ll make more money being in the markets between November and April.
However, after over 110+ years of combined market experience on Wall Street, we know that “Facts Don’t Count.”
Gasp!
What do you mean, “Facts don’t count?”
It’s simple.
Facts, percentages, statistics, etc. are used by the gurus (and guru wannabes) to get you to Zig while they Zag.
And most of them are cleverly disguised in the form of what we call “Annoying Acronyms and Wall Street Truisms” to give them an aura of authenticity.
Not surprisingly, most investors fall prey to these Bankster shark attacks on their hard-earned dollars. All of which, are aided and abetted by their bought-and-paid-for media lapdogs.
However, there are far too many to cover in an email.
But you can read a list of many of these Acronyms – and their true meaning – on our Website (HERE).
Go Away in May?
For now, let’s focus on the importance of why you shouldn’t “Go Away in May.”
Or maybe why you should raise some cash in anticipation of a bumpy ride into the summer.
Currently we do see more risk in the markets than we see rewards. And it seems the boyz in the “Club” are collectively chanting: “Something big is going to happen soon.”
But lest we forget, we’re still in The Most Hated Bull Market in History.
And if the Covid Collapse of 2020 – aka: The Bungee Jump Market – taught us anything it’s how the US market is still looked upon as the safest place on the planet.
Example: From May 1, 2020 to May 1, 2021, the DOW is up OVER 34%.
So, that means if you followed the Go Away in May crowd you would’ve missed out on one of the biggest moves up in recent history.
Don’t miss out on what could be historic moves in the next few months.
