In Case You Missed it…the ongoing riots in France (caused by widespread protests over the surging cost of living and underfunded public services) have worsened to the point where their Interior Minister Admits Police ‘Lost Control.’
As a result, the headlines now read: France Slaps 8PM Curfews on Cities.
Hmmm!
A curfew? That should solve everything (Sarc).
We wonder if the underfunded public services have something to do with losing control.
And this begs the question:
WHO is going to enforce this curfew?
Based on films we’ve seen, the reports of rioters/protesters don’t appear to fit the profile of a majority of students.

As a result, enforcing a curfew might be difficult.
Cop: Sir, do you realize you are violating curfew?
Muslim: What are you going to do about it?
Cop: Just making conversation.
Meanwhile, other headlines read: French President Macron Flees to the Gulf…
Wait! What?
Imagine how bad it must be in Paris, that someone would run and hide in the “Gulf” for safety.
Macron’s Gulf tour opened in Kuwait City on Monday, with the UAE, Bahrain and Qatar to follow by Wednesday.
Executives from TotalEnergies and Engie are traveling with him to seek commitments on diesel and oil volumes, and the talks include moving pre-positioned kerosene and diesel from Oman to Réunion and Mayotte.
Macron said the trip was needed to “secure our supplies,” noting that demonstrators had raised fuel prices.
LOL!
Oh, the Irony!
Macron flees to the Gulf sums it up perfectly….and we suspect that’s after issuing a strongly worded statement.

Speaking of irony, French protesters are demanding more socialism to fix problems caused by socialism.
And this was evidenced by the response of several rioters’ protesters:
“The government has completely and totally failed us. The only solution is more government,” said protester Luc Moreau.
“We want more money invested in schools, so we burned down the old ones,” explained local man Phillipe Durand.
And as of Monday, protesters had burned down 1,400 local businesses.
We suspect that was to protest the lack of available jobs.
Bottom line here?
Until France imposes and enforces martial law, curfews are useless.
But in a strange sort of way we should be thanking France for showing the world the true nature of socialism and how it plays out…every time, given time.
So, how does the French riots affect the US midterms and/or our markets?
We believe the DOW is getting ready to make New Highs.
And we give you a strategy to capitalize on it in our October Newsletter (HERE).
In the meantime, you should probably start to say Au Revoir to France AND Europe.
Share this with a friend…especially if they ever enjoyed croissants on la Rive Gauche. They’ll thank YOU later.
