Within hours after another Trump grandstanding headline day about how we are close to another deal with Iran (again) the IRGC says supertanker exploded after hitting mine in Hormuz, says strait remains closed.
Here we go again…
And speaking of headline fatigue, here’s a sample of yesterday’s propaganda/headlines proving that we are further away from a peace deal than we were after “Operation Epic Fury” was launched… starting Netanyahu’s war against Iran.
* IRGC says supertanker exploded after hitting mine in Hormuz, says strait remains closed.
* ‘Deal’ headlines return: US seeks “Step-by-Step” agreement with Iran, reports state media.
* Houthis seized more Red Sea territory, including Perim Island near the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
* Iran-Gulf diplomacy was postponed, delaying efforts to address the Strait of Hormuz crisis in what was to be a rare GCC-Iran meeting.
* Saudi oil exports face ongoing disruption after a pipeline shutdown, pushing oil prices above $100/barrel.
The headline about the Houthis seizing more Red Sea Territory is the one that you should be most concerned about.
Because in addition to the destruction of many Saudi oil fields and refineries the Saudis now face being handcuffed in two critical “Chokepoints” creating a possible Checkmate for Iran.
The question now becomes: How will they get their oil shipped out?
The answer is in the real estate/waterway/passage wedged in between Yemen * (whom the Saudis have been bombing mercilessly for years) and Perim Island.
(*Note: the Houthis control over 50% of Yemen)
In other words,…the Saudis won’t be moving much oil unless the Houthis say so.
But the chances of that are slim to none.
And Slim has already left the desert.
Maybe Trump will double down on his saying that Netanyahu’s war against Iran will be over by the mid-terms…and that the price of oil will fall dramatically.
Or Maybe Wall Street’s Court Jester, Jim Cramer will, once again, pound the table saying that oil prices have topped, like he said on March 8th.
Or maybe, JUST MAYBE, Thanks to Netanyahu, Trump and Bessent’s efforts to collapse Iran has instead collapsed all Arabs & bankrupted all Arab nations in the Gulf.
Time will tell.
But the dominoes have definitely started to fall.
