Trump Said “We Won” …Again

After claiming (seven times) that we are winning the Proxy War in Iran, Trump has finally said “We Won” …using a carefully worded phrase “I Think We’ve Won.”

This begs the question:  How can you say we won while begging other nations to help us in the Strait of Hormuz?

Cue up:  George Bush saying “Mission Accomplished” after six weeks in Iraq only to see that war continue for another EIGHT YEARS.

Sorry/Not Sorry but this appears to be another blast of bravado to cover the fact that we backed down after Iran bombed the hell out of the world’s largest (or second largest) LNG facility in Qatar.

As a result, Trump’s loss of face in front of the entire world has galvanized Iran’s efforts.

And speaking of losing face, most people forget (or don’t realize) that Iran is an Asian country.

Huh?

And saving face (or losing face) is a foundation of Asian culture.

The long term affects of the Qatar bombing will be devastating to the global economy.

And it’s not only going to take three to five years to rebuild (at an estimated price of over $20 Billion) but it also will hasten the price of oil to rise to $200 per barrel.

For the record, let’s look at all of the “winning” we have seen in the last few weeks in Iran:

  • The regime is still in power

  • The largest natural gas reservoir in the world, and it’s related facilities, is badly damaged

  • Russia is having its oil sanctions loosened

  • Iran is having its oil sanctions loosened

  • Multiple US allies are running low on fuel

  • The stock markets are crashing

  • China has been getting their oil out of the Gulf

  • GCC oil assets are badly damaged

  • Israel is badly damaged (but they are not allowed to report it to the world)

  • Iran has suffered large civilian casualties

So, how do we handle all this winning?

We Won

Ironically (or NOT) most people accept the Israel/US position that Iran is the world’s foremost terrorist nation.

But you rarely hear of terrorism by Iran.

And the US says that is because Iran uses proxies to do their dirty deeds.  The two major proxies are Hezbollah and Hamas.

But Hezbollah and Hamas are INDEPENDENT entities who defend themselves from Israel attacks…which is not terrorism.

Iran cannot order Hezbollah to conduct a suicide mission in Israel.

Hezbollah will fight when they consider it necessary.

Similarly, Hamas does not need Iran to tell them what military actions to take.

As we have mentioned it the past: We Don’t Understand Their Culture and that this is a Holy War.

Consequently, that is the main reason Israel has such a hated for Iran.

Because Iran belongs to the Shia section of Islam.

And for Shia, justice is of foremost importance.  They will fight for justice against overwhelming odds.

That is also the reason why Iran did not abandon the Palestinians.

Their unwavering support of justice is why Israel regards Iran as the most dangerous nation on earth.

Trump can claim “We Won” all day long.

But, unfortunately for us (and the rest of the world) this proxy war is far from over.

Because once you stir the hornets’ nest, it’s up to the hornets when it stops.

Share this with a friend…especially if they don’t realize that Iran is part of Asia.  They’ll thank YOU later.

And tell them:

We’re Not Just About Finance

But we use finance to give you hope.

“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
