At the risk of incurring the wrath of those supporting the war in Iran we believe that, YES, it has become a Holy War.
And just like Afghanistan (which spawned ISIS) this is the primary reason it won’t be finished any time soon.
Cue up: Israel’s biggest war monger Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been pushing Trump further/faster than Trump would normally go alone.
But the question we have is: Why is Trump doing this?
Is it BECAUSE Netanyahu demands it, or are their interests ALIGNED?

Or is it from the leverage Netanyahu has over Trump’s domestic base that he’s using against him?
Huh?
The Evangelical base (30-40% of Trump’s coalition) are fanatically pro-Israel.
And they see Iran as a biblical enemy like Amalek of 1 Samuel 15:1-3…where Samuel told Saul – the first King of Israel – what God wanted him to do…
“I crowned you king of Israel because God told me to. Now be sure that you obey him. 2 Here is his commandment to you: ‘I have decided to settle accounts with the nation of Amalek for refusing to allow my people to cross their territory when Israel came from Egypt. 3 Now go and completely destroy the entire Amalek nation—men, women, babies, little children, oxen, sheep, camels, and donkeys.’”
~ The Living Bible (TLB) translation ~
Unfortunately, Scripture is often taken out of context, and used to justify personal agendas.
And if Netanyahu thinks he is Saul, doing God’s work, then he needs to read the rest of 1 Samuel 15 where it says…
8 He captured Agag, the king of the Amalekites, but killed everyone else. 9 However, Saul and his men kept the best of the sheep and oxen and the fattest of the lambs—everything, in fact, that appealed to them. They destroyed only what was worthless or of poor quality.
10 Then the Lord said to Samuel, 11 “I am sorry that I ever made Saul king, for he has again refused to obey me.”
Saul eventually lost his Kingdom to David for not following orders.
Holy War
So, if Iran is a Holy War will Israel completely wipe them off the face of the earth…or will history repeat?
As we are wont to say:
History Repeats Because the Passions of Many Never Change
As a result, our biggest concern is that nobody seems to comprehend that this is NOT the same as Iraq.

Saddam was just a head of state.
But the Ayatollah was Iran’s religious leader who was assassinated while in the middle of negotiations.
Therefore, the chances of anyone in Iran trusting any future negotiations is slim to none.
And slim already left town.
