Trump’s recent seizing of a Russian tanker is nothing short of an act of war. And Putin’s silence about it is deafening.
A quote widely attributed to the Chinese philosopher Confucius comes to mind.
“The dogs that bark the fiercest are the least likely to bite.”
You must understand that the context of the quote suggests that those who make the loudest threats or show the most bluster are often the least dangerous in action.
And that’s why Putin’s silence is deafening.
In Case You Missed it…In what can only be described as straight out of a Cold War techno-thriller, featuring The Hunt for Red October vibes, the U.S. Coast Guard seized the Russian-flagged oil tanker Marinera (formerly Bella 1) in the North Atlantic, followed by U.S. forces seizing a stateless dark-fleet tanker in the Caribbean region. *

Why this particular tanker?
One key question is why Washington is hyper-focused on this particular tanker, given that the global dark fleet has more than 1,000 tankers hauling sanctioned crude worldwide.
The ship’s quick registration in Russia, without inspection or formalities, may only suggest that the tanker, which departed Venezuelan waters, could be carrying other cargo bound for Russia.
But that doesn’t change the fact that this move is a very dangerous response that could trigger a series of very nasty events.
Especially when you consider how Putin has not personally addressed the action.
It appears that Trump and the Neo-Cons are in FAFO mode…with Russia readying to apply the FO part.
Putin’s Silence
You would think by now that the chest pounding by Neocon morons like Marco Rubio would be met with some show of opposition.
Which makes Putin’s silence even more ominous.
Translation: We are one wrong move away from WW3…

It appears that this incident, with an old, rusty, empty tanker that did not even get to a Venezuelan port, was carefully choreographed by the UK to start a war between Russia and the US, which the UK desperately needs to save it from losing the war in Ukraine.
But Russia is refusing to play. There is no evidence of a Russian sub or warships. It was all disinformation that was timed to escalate tensions, and we are not out of danger yet…
“On December 24, 2025, the Marinera received a temporary permit to fly the Russian flag, issued in accordance with Russian and international law,” the ministry stated, adding that the attack on the vessel came in violation of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, which ensures freedom of navigation in international waters.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said it has been “closely monitoring” the situation around the tanker. Russian nationals are believed to be among the crew of the vessel, the ministry noted, urging the US to ensure “humane and dignified treatment” of the captured sailors and to “allow them to return home as quickly as possible.” – RT
Translation: Russia doesn’t even want the ship…
