The following conversation recently took place between me and my doctor* at a follow-up visit.
(* My doctor is an old-school style physician who hates seeing how big corporations have been destroying the medical profession for decades. He’s also very cool and has been my Doc for over 25 years).
When you visit your doctor you normally don’t expect them to ask you questions like:
(Doc): “Why doesn’t the media point out how the wealthy in this country profit from lung cancer at our expense?”
Wait! What?
(Me, trying to change the subject): “Hey, Doc…how were the results of my blood work?”
(Doc): “Seriously, Mr. Vincent…the vast majority of cancer patients die from lung cancer and the number in 2018 was over 735,000. Why doesn’t anyone talk about this?”
(Me): Um, it’s probably bec…
(Doc, not hearing me): “I’ll tell you why. The wealthy people and the big pharma companies work together and lie to everyone about cancer treatments because it’s extremely profitable for them.”
(Me): “You make an excellent point, Doc, and…”
(Doc): “And another thing that upsets me is how they never emphasize ways or lifestyles to the public that may actually improve their health.” Nope, No Sireee. That wouldn’t be profitable for them.”
(Me, trying to lighten the conversation): “So, tell me Doc, how do you really feel about this?”
(Doc, still on a roll…) “Take for example how everyone goes off the rails when a Boeing 737 crashes and 200 people die. Yes, it’s tragic and you feel sorry for their families. But if TEN 737’s crashed every day for one year it still wouldn’t equal the amount of people who die from lung cancer.”
I quickly did the math had to stop and let that statement sink in.
You should let it sink in as well.
Read how Big Pharma gets away with murder (literally)… and the excellent solutions my doctor came up with in our January issue of “…In Plain English.”
You’ll thank my Doc later.
