From a very young age we’re taught that your wealth is based on your balance sheet.
Having a substantial portfolio of stocks, bonds, real estate, etc., serves as proof of your financial success in life.
Such is the case, for most people, in terms of material wealth.
Unfortunately, this is one of the main reasons why most investors fail when it comes to investing in the stock market.
Wait! What?
Want proof?
Do the math.
In almost every case of investing, the 1% needs the 99% to be wrong.
It’s how they’ve always made fortunes at your expense.
And just about the time you think you’ve got it all figured out is when you get crushed by “unforeseen circumstances.”
Of course, the boyz in the “Club” will holler: “I’m shocked, I tell you. Shocked! Who could’ve foreseen this coming?”
Meanwhile they’re laughing all the way to the bank while you never saw it coming.
Your Balance Sheet
It’s Wall Street’s Wash, Rinse, Repeat cycle.
Draw the suckers in, cut ‘em off at the knees, then move in for the spoils.
Nevertheless, your personal balance sheet is, obviously, personal.
And – just like buying stocks – it shouldn’t be based on your feelings.
Why?
The markets don’t care, have never cared and never will care about how you feel…or your opinion.
So, when you try to build your net worth in stocks (based on how you feel) you’ll end up like the 99%.
And although you may build up a substantial portfolio over time, it still doesn’t reflect your real wealth.
True wealth comes from the satisfaction that – regardless of what happens to your stocks, real estate, etc. – you remain comfortable in your own skin.
Don’t get me wrong here.
There’s nothing wrong with making lots of money.
But if you’re prone to panic or cave under pressure you’ll make lots of mistakes.
Learn how to remain cool when the markets get wild.
And learn how to prosper AND thrive in Turbulent Times.
