You know you’re in trouble when your Minister of Agriculture and Consumer Protection tells you to turn off the heat and Wear Warmer Sweaters.
Cue up: German Minister Peter Hauk as he called for a complete ban on German imports of Russian gas and oil as a result of the war in Ukraine.
And with Germans already struggling to heat their homes Hauk told them to wear more clothing instead.
“You can withstand 15 degrees (Celsius) in winter in a sweater. No one dies of it. But people are dying elsewhere.”
Isn’t that special?
Ironically (or NOT) Europe still imports 40% of gas and 25% of oil from Russia.
Flashback September 2018: German delegates openly laughed at former President Donald Trump for demanding energy independence and warning that their nation would become completely reliant on Russian energy.
Trump said:
“Reliance on a single foreign supplier can leave a nation vulnerable to extortion and intimidation.”
Who’s laughing now?
The Need to Wear Warmer Sweaters
Ironically (or NOT) those who accused Trump of doing Putin’s bidding have made themselves completely dependent upon Russia.
In case you missed it, the media painted Trump as Putin’s pawn.
However, consider this:
- The Steele Dossier (Cough! Hillary, Cough! John McCain, Hairball Cough!) proved to be fake.
- Most media outlets have failed to redact their lies and false reports.
- And the public/sheeple still believes that Trump was sacrificing domestic policy in favor of Russia.
- The obvious ties between the Biden crime family and Ukraine have been ignored.
As a result, the decision makers ignored all the facts – that were staring them in the face – years ago and are responsible for the energy crisis.
So, you see, it’s NOT all Putin or Trump’s fault.
And OH, the irony of Russia now demanding “unfriendly countries” purchase their gas/oil in Rubles. *
“It’s pretty clear that it makes no sense for us to supply our goods to the European Union, to the U.S. and receive payments in dollars, euros, or other currencies.”
~Vladimir Putin~
(* Note: Gazprom, the largest supplier of gas from Russia provided “unfriendly countries” with around 70% of exports in 2021 totaling $69 Billion)
So, if you’re a sweater maker in Europe, your sales are going to skyrocket.
Meanwhile, Putin is still playing chess while the West is fumbling with checkers.
