The “Slingshot Effect”

In the past we’ve written numerous times about the Slingshot Effect in the markets.

It’s a naturally occurring phenomenon that happens to most sectors of the market…especially after completing a down cycle.

At first, it’s not obvious to most investors.

However, as time goes on – and with prices and volume increasing – some “early birds” get caught up in the FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) syndrome.

Slingshot Effect in Play

Once FOMO gets traction is usually when you see sectors of the market take off.

Currently – and for more than 2-3 years – we’ve been promoting the commodities sector.

Why?

The majority of commodities have been overlooked and under invested for over 20 years.

“In Plain English” commodities have been building a huge base.  And have been deeply discounted compared to most other sectors in the market.

They’re like a coiled spring or a Slingshot pulled all the way back.

And it’s only a matter of time before they take off to the upside.

Think of putting something in the pouch of a slingshot, stretching it all the way back and then launching it to the sky.

That’s what happens when those sectors come into play.

And if you’ve been reading us for a while, you’ll know how we’ve “hinted” at certain commodities (COUGH! Gold and Silver COUGH!) as next in line for the “Slingshot Effect.”

So, when will it become a reality?

Again, the telltale sign is when the FOMO syndrome kicks in.

Ironically (or NOT) huge gains have already occurred before the FOMO effect.

The mistake made by most investors here is when they allow themselves to be talked out of buying into a sector because some Guru Wannabe says: “Gold is in a bubble.”

To those fools we simply say:  “LOL!”
