No, Mr. Bond, I Expect You to Die

Who doesn’t remember the famous scene from Goldfinger – when Bond, strapped to a table, is about to be torn in half by a laser beam – and he says:

Bond: “Do you expect me to talk?”

Goldfinger: “No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die.”

Ironically (or NOT), the media also expects you to die from the Kung Flu.  Or, at least that’s what they want you to believe as they promote mass hysteria.

C’MON, MAN!

Unfortunately, you know things have gone to an extreme when even the new James Bond movie “No Time to Die” has been postponed because of the Kung Flu.

Ironically (or NOT), they’re conveniently using the Kung Flu as a cover for the death of the once iconic “Bond” franchise.

Why?

They killed it being Politically Correct and their pathetic “Wokeness” to appeal to a younger (Cough! Millennial Cough!) crowd.

Early screenings have been dismal…at best.

Let’s face it.   No one – who appreciates the thrilling mysteries of Ian Fleming’s famous 007 – will welcome the new Bond as a black lesbian womanizer.

Chalk one up for the feminists here who will love resurrecting one of MoneyPenny’s famous lines: “James, you always were a cunning linguist.”

Unfortunately, the 007 franchise is yet another business casualty that will be blamed on a flu that’s basically a political conspiracy.

Meanwhile, the frantic coverage blaming of our whipsaw markets on the Coronavirus continues to take the focus off the real problem undermining the global economy.

Namely…The REPO Market collapse. (We wrote about it Here, Here, and Here).

They’ve been severely “Shaken, not Stirred, MoneyPenny.”

The Fed is trapped into providing hundreds of Billions in liquidity for the REPOs to keep interest rates from going up.  It’s a losing battle but it’s all they have.

So, while everyone is trying to cozy up to the Fed Chairman Powell to keep rates low, I’m reminded of another famous line that MoneyPenny used to say to 007: “Flattery will get you nowhere…but don’t stop trying.”
