Yesterday we poked a few holes in Wall Street’s recent claim of 2019 being one of the greatest years ever.
We remind you that December still has a long way to go.
We also remind you that the boyz in the “Club” are notorious for spinning stocks in December to beef up their year-end bonuses.
Do you remember last December?
Anyway, we thought it would be fun to highlight some financial numbers that you rarely see published by the Whores-of-Babble-on presstitutes.
So, let’s start with a statistic from 2019 that shows the risk of owning just one stock:
- 56 individual stocks within the S&P are up at least +50% YTD as of November 30.
- 11 stocks are up at least +75% YTD.
- 13 stocks are down at least 30% YTD.
- 4 stocks are down at least 50%.
Hopefully you owned the ones that were up.
The Social Security Administration reported that outlays for fiscal 2019 – the 12 months ending 09/30/2019 – were $988 Billion, 24% of the nation’s total outlays of $4.1 Trillion.
In August 2019, The Congressional Budget Office projected that Social Security Outlays for 2029 will be $1.82 Trillion, 26% of the nation’s estimated outlays of $7.0 Trillion.
Keep in mind that these are government projections and will likely be waaaayyyyyy off.
Why?
In 1935 when Roosevelt proposed the SS retirement program, his “financial people” projected the total SS expenditures would reach $1.3 Billion in 1980.
The actual SS outlays in 1980 were $149 billion.
Oops!
They weren’t just wrong…they were really REALLY wrong.
Unfortunately, politicians NEVER admit they made a mistake. Instead they’ll propose solutions to problems they created which will eventually create more problems.
Bottom line?
By 2029, Social Security will be unrecognizable compared to today.
So, how do you prepare for the inevitable dismantling of Social Security?
Find out in our December issue of “…In Plain English” (HERE).
