Financials Matter

"It's Not Just About Finance"

Election or Squirrel Coverage

Now that the election is officially/unofficially over we are not sure which is more annoying, the election or squirrel coverage.

And, in case you missed it, we are referring to the story behind “Peanut” the squirrel who (along with his buddy, Fred the racoon) were euthanized after a raid on their owners home last week.

Peanut and Fred the racoon’s owner, Mark Longosaid they had been seized by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC).

The agency confirmed to NBC News that the critters had been euthanized to test for rabies.

The animals were taken Oct. 30 after DEC officials learned they were “sharing a residence with humans, creating the potential for human exposure to rabies.”

That may sound like the DEC is protecting citizens but…

#PeanutTheSquirrel was 7 years old & a pet for 7 years.

How could he be considered a wild animal when all he knew was being a pet?

Squirrel Coverage More Than Election Coverage

As a result, the meme world is on fire about Peanut and the ensuing squirrel coverage.

Longo, who operates a wildlife shelter called P’Nuts Freedom Farm Animal Sanctuary, had this to say:

“What happened today and what transpired throughout this week has been nothing short of a tragedy and a disgrace to the New York state. We used resources from this state to kill a squirrel and raccoon and raid my house as if I was a drug dealer. We have resources to kill a raccoon and a squirrel, but we can’t fix the major bridges down the street? I am appalled.”

Well said, Mr. Longo…and we could not agree more.

And this begs the question:  Has anyone heard from PETA over this?

But why would the “Authorities” do this? (And who are these authorities anyway?)

Because after seven years as a social media star, Peanut the Squirrel was seized by New York environmental authorities, who said the animal was being kept illegally.

It does not make sense.

Unless, of course there is another agenda here.

And because we are writing about Peanut the Squirrel (instead of Election Coverage) we will probably be criticized and/or called racists, misogynists, insufferable heartless jerks.

But we don’t care what the easily offended think about us.

Why?

Because the election coverage is now past the point of nauseating…and it will continue relentlessly for God knows how long.

In the meantime, it is interesting to note that Peanut the Squirrel has been investigated more than ANY of Epstein’s clients.

Touche.

Unfortunately, and based on past experience with tyrannical bureaucrats, we know how this will end…

And now that Election Day Exuberance has cause the markets to “go all in” with traders buying everything in sight, it will be interesting to see what’s next.

Rest assured it will be interesting.
